Sadly there is no exhibition at Old Alresford Place which are now our Diocesan Offices and Retreat Centre, though her picture still hangs in the room it all started in! If you ask at reception and no-one is using it, they may be kind enough to let you in.

An chapel exhibition and commemorative window is planned for St Mary's the church next door but as with all these sorts of things may take some while because of fund-raising and the relevant permissions. The church may be open, and some things are in there that may be of interest.

At Winchester Cathedral there is a memorial plaque on one of the flying buttresses on the south wall, and Mary Sumner is buried in the graveyard at the East end but I'm not sure that this is open to the public. We hope to discuss with the Cathedral how we can raise the profile of Mary Sumner at the Cathedral, but that process is only just starting after their recent 'rebranding' process.

My wife who has been a Branch Leader of the Mothers Union and an Archdeacon in Devon wondered whether a visit to Old Alresford place was wothwhile-is there a small exhibition there for instance? We are travelling up tomorrow 27th Sept.
Many thanks
