25th March – with the announcement of new restrictions tonight – all Diocesan Meetings, are cancelled for the forseeable future, all of Our Child Contact Centres are now closed. and all Branch meetings should now be cancelled.  All communication is via email or telephone and Branch Members are advised to follow the Governement directions for staying at home.

Please do consider your own health and the well being of others in your community and please support your local church in their efforts to respond to the needs of your community.

As it has been a tradition of worshipping communities to have a routine of daily morning, evening and night prayer we have added to our ‘posts’ a link to the C of E Daily Prayers . We hope this may help you all continue to be linked to the daily life of the church.

Some Prayers in this time of Concern from the MU Diocesan Chaplain

Lord Jesus Christ, You taught us to love our neighbour, and to care for those in need, as we would care for You.  In this time of anxiety, give us the strength to comfort the fearful, to tend the sick, and to assure the isolated of our love and of Your love; for Your name’s sake.  Amen

Loving Lord, we pray for your world which You created and love, for all its peoples.  For those afflicted by the Covid -19 virus, for all health  staff, particularly the N.H.S.  who are caring for the sick in unprecedented conditions, for all who are struggling to find a cure or vaccine to save so many lives. We pray for those in government and authority with the unenviable tasks of dealing with this pandemic.  We pray that all will remember our common humanity, and pull together. We hold before you all who are sick, bereaved, isolated, lonely or simply afraid.  Help us by Your grace to hold fast to You, and look always to You for guidance and aid; for the sake of Your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ.  Amen.

Prayer of St. Teresa of Avila

Let nothing disturb you,    nothing frighten you;       All things are passing;

God never changes;    Patient endurance     Attains all things;

Whoever possesses God    lacks nothing;   God alone suffices.
